About Me

I am 25 years old and a lover of sports, softball and volleyball especially. I have an amazing boyfriend who has stuck with me for 4 years and counting, and we have the best doggy in the world! I currently work as an accountant at a small private college, a cook/waitress at a local tavern, and have recently decided to become a Team Beachbody Coach and change my life, as well as the lives of others.

My journey started June 28, 2013 when I ordered my Focus T25 challenge pack, became a Beachbody coach, and joined my first challenge group! I was at a point in my life where I just felt stuck. I was always tired and in a bad mood. I had been gaining weight and felt sluggish 24/7. I have always been an athlete and even played collegiate softball, but once I graduated I wasn't working out at all or playing competitive sports anymore. The first couple years I seemed to maintain my weight for the most part, but this last year has not been good on my body. My eating habits were AWFUL! I usually stopped on my way to work to get breakfast from McDonald's or Tim Horton's and I probably ate out for lunch/dinner at least 5 times a week. I drank pop like it was going out of style and had a huge sweet tooth! That obviously lead to my weight gain, but not being active was making it worse.

Things started to change when I noticed some of my friends posting on Facebook about Beachbody and the amazing results they were seeing from their programs. Once I starting thinking about this and how it could possibly be an option for me, I was also seeing multiple Insanity infomercials on tv. Now I believe in signs and this was starting to look like one. One night I woke up at like 2:30 am and that infomercial was on again. I decided that was it and the very next day I contacted one of my friends on Facebook and they put me in contact with my now coach, Melanie Mitro. Melanie has been my saving grace. She walked me through the ordering process and helped me pick out the perfect workout program for me. She also enrolled me in my first challenge group. This is a closed group on Facebook where we all talk about the struggles we are faced with as well as our successes. We go over meal planning and tips for clean eating. There are also recipes that are exchanged and many friendships that are made. Something clicking in my brain (finally!), Melanie and the ladies in my challenge group have been the backbone to my success thus far. I just finished the 6th week of my program and am down 9.5 inches and 9.6 pounds. I would have never been able to do it without them. They have taught me how to eat properly to fuel my body, motivating and supporting me when I need it most, and just sharing their successes and struggles. I would not be the person I am today without having shared this experience with these amazing ladies!

I don't think I have ever been so excited for my future. There are so many amazing opportunities in front of me and I can't wait to explore them. This is only the beginning of my journey, and I encourage you to follow me. I will be posting often about how my fitness & nutrition regimen  is going, different recipes that I am trying, as well as journaling my thoughts and feelings about things that are going on in my life. I am so excited about where things are going and I hope you tag along for this amazing ride!
